It took a moment for him to realize who was even speaking, blinking through his swollen eye as he tried to make out the man who had sidled up next to him. He was older like the rest of them but tall and thin with a cigarette dangling from his lips.
“He’s not my dad.” IV said, staring sullenly at his coaster as nervous fingers began to rip it up.
“Your boyfriend?” The man's eyebrow quirked up as he took a drink of his beer, pale blue eyes watching IV from over the top of the glass.
