He didn't like change, at all. But meeting Robin and adapting and growing around her wasn't bad, he just learnt who he was and how he would fit her into his routine.
Which, now, as Steve watches Robin fiddle with the handmade bracelet he just knows Robin didn't make, he figures; yeah, maybe change isn't all that bad.
Bringing himself out of his thoughts, he takes another bite from his chocolate bar, quietly observing Robin as she smiles fondly at her bracelets.
“So,” he starts, blunt, because when is he not. “How long have you and Vickie been dating?”

“You’re a real gentleman, huh?" Steve asks with a snort. "What do they say - best of luck to you meeting fate, but better luck to your soulmate?” It was an old saying you’d hear if someone wanted to suggest that you were a handful and your soulmate was in for a real challenge.
“Hey, I resent that!” Eddie grins. “I am a gentleman.”
“I stand corrected. You’re gonna make some fisherman’s daughter real happy some day.”
“Some fisherman’s daughter?” Eddie asks, laughing at the thought.
“Or fisherman’s son, whatever,” Steve says just as easily, chuckling while lifting the bottom of his shirt up again to wipe down the water rings on the bar top. Eddie chokes on his drink, averting his eyes from Steve’s newly exposed naval.

It's not until there's a streak of black running across the lawn, that he realizes it's Eddie Munson's band he's been listening to play. Shit.
Steve doesn't flee, he just waits for his tongue lashing for daring to do whatever Eddie's gonna excuse him of, just for being on the same street. Eddie has hated him from first sight, ranting about jocks and popularity and for some reason, his hair. Steve's never made any move to change his mind. It's useless. Eddie Munson has no give, no bend, it's his way or no way at all.
Best to avoid him whenever possible.
