Summary
“Hey, do you top?” James asks out of nowhere one night.
They are sprawled across the couch in Regulus’s flat, watching some action movie neither of them is that interested in. As per usual, Regulus is almost fully lying on top of James, his head on James’s chest; probably his favourite place to lay his head. His ear pressed against the very real heartbeat of this man he adores.
“What?” Regulus asks, startled.
“Top? I mean do you fuck people, men, do you fuck—I mean hopefully not recently—Jesus fuck, what I mean to say is, have you topped before, and do you like it?” James finally asks.
Regulus raises on his hands, on either side of James’s torso, and looks at James. James meets his stare, unflinching under Regulus’s scrutiny. It’s probably lost its effect by now with how smitten Regulus is with his boyfriend. Now, that he thinks about it, it’s weird how they’ve never talked about this before.
“Yes,” he pulls himself off James, moving to sit beside him. “I have topped before and yes, I do like it."
