Summary
"What—" Steve swallows hard again, determined to force the words out. "Whatever you want. Jus'"—his tongue darts out, wetting his dry lips and he winces at both the blood he can taste and the sting from where his lip is split—"leave'm alone."
Hargrove's face lights up and a strange kind of numbness spreads from Steve's gut through the rest of him. Nothing good can come from that smile.

Summary
Since that night at the Byers', Billy hadn't been able to stop thinking about the way Steve felt underneath him. Even beat all to hell, the guy was too pretty for his own good. And it was clear from his clothes, his car, his neighborhood that he came from money. Poor guy was just dumped, too.
All in all, Billy figured he could do worse for a soulmate.
All he had to do now was lock him down.

Summary
"Let's not do this in front of the kids, huh, Harrington?" he'd said after catching sight of Max in the window. His tone had been honeyed; his eyes wide and palms held up in front of him. Entirely unlike the guy Steve is used to dealing with since he moved here.
Now Steve is in Hargrove's car with no idea where they're headed and realizing he probably made a mistake.
