“You could have let me die.” Rumi stepped a little closer, close enough to count the gold flecks in his dark, unreadable eyes. Not the familiar demonic gold, but something else. Like sunlight cast across the water, sparkling and bright and entirely human. “You didn’t have to save me, but you did.”
“My job would certainly be easier if I had.”
“Then why?”
Maybe she pushed too hard but she had to know. She was so close and she had to -
“You know why.”
...
Or, the confrontation with Mira and Zoey winds up getting violent. Jinu saves Rumi's life and the two act on their undeniable feelings for each other while the world falls apart.

Summary
It’s been thirty-seven days.
She’s counted.
There’s a part of her that wonders if she should be grateful. The world is safe, the monsters are gone, the fans are singing again and the demons are locked away back where they came from. But inside her, the stage is dark and the music doesn’t start in the right tempo, in the correct rhythm, in the right tune.
And she doesn’t know how to mourn someone who gave up everything and asked for nothing in return. She doesn’t even know how to miss someone who was never hers.
Or,
Jinu burned and vanished in her arms, and now he haunts her dreams in soft smiles and lingering stares — and Rumi doesn’t know what’s worse: that he’s gone, or that her heart insists he never really left.

In the mirror, her eyes were still golden. But they didn’t seem as unnatural now. They were warm. Luminous. Like sunrise caught in glass. Like the colour they fought to turn the Honmoon.
“I keep forgetting,” Rumi muttered, “that I don’t have to hide anymore.”
“That’s why we’re here,” Zoey said, nudging her with an elbow. “To remind you.”
