Summary
Mike takes a step back, lifts his arms and stretches his long torso to take off his shirt. It’s an old The Cure t-shirt that doesn’t fit Will anymore quite right, but Mike is wearing it all the same. It stops at his belly button, two balls of glinting silver adorns the pinch of his stomach.
Cream skin, the tease of a few freckles dotting their way into Mike’s complexion. The twin metal balls; his handsome bellybutton red and irritated from the intrusion.
Will swallows dry, a jittery giggle pushing its way from his throat. He must be so stupidly and uncontrollably obvious. But if Mike can see the way he eyes his stomach down, he says nothing.
A string of memories in one last scorching summer in Hawkins, Indiana, connected by a hidden lake, and a belly button piercing. You wouldn’t think they’d have any correlation, until they do.

Summary
A scream rang out into the sky like fireworks. It was a scream no one should ever have to hear. The sound of someone's world crashing, the sound of their heart breaking into two, the sound of a piece of them dying.
Miles exhausted his vocal cords. He felt a tsunami of motions hitting him in the face but he couldn’t feel anything at all. Ears ringing, the last thing he remembered before his eyes were covered by Gwens white gloved fingers was the sight of his dad’s cracked open skull stained on concrete and rubble.
Miles was too late, his dad was dead.
Or
Miles' life is split in two when he looses his dad after just recovering from the loss of his uncle a year earlier. He has to figure out how to grieve, save people, juggle his dangerous crush, and Miguel's consistent apologies.
