Summary
In what you think is your last breath, leather squeaking against your throat so hard that it feels like it burns, you manage to whisper, “you’re actually.. very.. beautiful.”
When his crushing grip on your throat suddenly released, you let out a garish gasp, a cough and sputter. Your brain, almost dead a few seconds ago, suddenly sparked back to life, colors blooming painfully behind your eyes as you try to regain your breath. Fuzzy dark vision begins to fade into something sharper.
You can see his gloved hands floating over where they once made rough contact with your throat, eyes traveling up his arms and observing his gaudy velvet sleeves pushed up past the elbow—old blood, unsuccessfully washed. When your eyes finally landed on his face, you could see that his blank expression had turned into that of confusion, one eyebrow raised higher than the other.
“What?” He said.

Summary
He’s practically just a kid, is all that you can think. But saying anything to him in this moment could make him pull the trigger, whether it be at you or himself. Not that you could speak, anyway. Not that you want to. After you’ve chased Henry Letham down subways, empty streets, dingy cafes where the light flickers enough to make your head throb, all you want to do is hear him out.
Keep him talking, keep him alive.
But God—it’s so hard, right now, because all he keeps telling you is that all he wants to do before he kills himself is suck you off.

Summary
Bartleby mustered enough strength to lift his hand from where it met Loki’s. He pressed the pad of his thumb against the blood where it gathered on the top of Loki’s lip, and slowly, shakily attempted to wipe it away. Instead, he trailed a bigger red streak across Loki’s cheek. Bartleby frowned as he stared at the blood on his thumb.
In that moment, looking into Loki’s eyes, seeing the fear, the shame, seeing how Loki looked at him like he would have an answer—inside of him, a deep hatred for the other angel began to burn.
It wasn’t even Loki’s fault.
