Poundcake just wanted to try out his new retro videogame console, that's all. But now he's a ninja, Feinberg is a trident, and they're being given a quest by a strange man in a strange vehicle with dubious intentions. Something about a temple and an eye?

They're god-tier runners, they can figure it out. Probably.

Couri stretched out the wing that Feinberg wasn’t holding and thumped it against the couch, resisting the urge to ruffle his feathers. Fein was working, and fluffing them up would just ruin the progress he’d made.

“What did you even get in them?” Fein asked, focusing on Couri’s wing with the same single-minded intensity he gave to everything.

“So you know the blue vines in the Nether?” he asked.

    “Couri.”

“Yeah, turns out they burst when you crash into them,” Couri said sheepishly. Fein gave him a flat look, but he dropped it after a moment, rolling his eyes.

Or: Couri needs help preening his wings, and Feinberg wants to know more about Watchers.

Silverr has never been upset by his blindness. He has all he could ever want in the caves he calls home, and vision is all but useless here anyways.

So why does it hurt so much to know he’ll never fly?

    Summary

“I thought you were supposed to help me,” Poundcake grumbled.

“Yeah, well, I thought you were supposed to be speedrunning,” Mime said.

Poundy wasn’t sure where Mime had come from. He’d been carefully constructing an obsidian frame at a lava pool, and a stranger’s voice had said “No, don’t place it there—” right into his ear. Poundy had been so shocked he toppled backwards into the lava, creature on his shoulder and all.

When he’d respawned, standing shell-shocked and gently steaming in the frosty village air, he’d sensed the disapproval emanating from his shoulder before a word had been said.
