Summary
Hikaru’s absence haunts him at every turn, even in innocuous, random places like a coffee shop in Suzuka, leagues away from where Kubitachi is. He’d left Kubitachi and Hikaru behind over a year ago, eager to set out on his own and forget the muddled past. With Tanaka’s advice and help, he’d secured a way forward from and out of Kubitachi, and he’d been so determined to never look back.

Hikaru strokes a thumb over the notch of bone at Yoshiki’s wrist. He’s been unusually quiet and contemplative today, sequestered inside himself. Presently he stares with downcast eyes at the bed, mouth pinched into a pensive moue.

Summary
Tanaka leans forward a bit, and the smile he’s wearing is only a little unnerving. Yoshiki is once again struck by his features: without his large sunglasses on, he has a delicate face, with large, hooded eyes and long eyelashes and a masculine, handsome nose bridge. He’s a good-looking guy.
It abruptly hits Yoshiki that he’s sitting in bed with an older man in a love hotel. He swallows, nerves prickling, and tries to calm the hammering of his heart.
“Um,” says Yoshiki.
