In the last year and a half, Hao noticed that a small part of Hanbin was hidden out of fear and self-preservation. Hanbin is the perfect image of a good son, a good student and a good person. Only when no one was looking did he let himself feel the weight of it all at once.
Hao hates that he knows Hanbin well enough now to know what he's thinking. He knows that if he looks at him right now, he'll have to break his heart.

Instead of accepting the bone that Gyuvin’s trying to throw in his direction, Ricky smacks it away like it’s offended him personally. “You’re actually talking nonsense. Did you hit your head or something? Should I take you to the hospital?”
“Absolutely not,” Gyuvin says. “I’m perfectly sane right now.”
Ricky rubs a hand down his face in frustration. He looks stressed. What is he not understanding? “Gyuvin, is that really what you want? To just be friends?”

And there it is—the question hangs in between them while Hanbin freezes in place. He opens his mouth then closes it, unable to form words despite the fact that there are very limited options to answer a question like that. Hao seems to take Hanbin’s silence for rejection because he starts speaking before Hanbin can.
“Sorry, you don’t have to answer that. That was a stupid question. I only meant that—”
“I would,” Hanbin says. “I would kiss you.”

Summary
A quiet gasp leaves Hao when he finds Hanbin had spun around to face him, his face pinched like he’s been holding something back, “Do you know the effect you have on people?” Hanbin asks the question lowly, his glasses sliding to the tip of his nose as he eyes Hao warily.

Hanbin froze.
His entire body stilled, and he blinked down at Hao with wide eyes. His heart skipped—no, slammed—a beat.
“What?” he whispered, barely able to get the word out.
Hao blinked slowly, still watching him. “I couldn’t bring him home tonight,” he muttered. “He smelled like you.”
Hao had a pretty good life with his roommates, Hanbin and Gyuvin. Sure, he was dealing with his own dramatic mess, but maybe the real turning point was when someone dropped the bomb—Hanbin, his roommate and best friend of seven years, had actually been in love with him this whole time!
