    My only quibble with Kalki’s masterpiece was that I longed for a happy ending for Arulmozhi Varman and Poonguzhali. This is a story for those like me, that rewrites certain events from Book Three, Chapter 42, onwards to explore what Arulmozhi Varman’s attraction to Poonguzhali and the latter’s devotion to the Prince could have led to.
