“I think they’re official now” Karen commented, following Regina’s gaze “Uh who?- oohh Aaron Samuels and that used to be homeschooled girl. I heard she pretended to be horrible at Math just to make him notice her” Gretchen whispered
“That’s stupid. She doesn’t even look that good” Regina said flatly.
“Wait, are you jealous?”
“Am not!” Regina exclaimed, laughing in disbelief
“Why would I be jealous?”
“Well, you were the only girl he dated, and he’s pretty much the only hot guy in this school”Okay, fair.
She continued to munch on her food, muttering a
“Whatever, I look way better than her”
But deep down, she hated to admit that she’d lost. She hated the feeling of losing. She didn’t want to look like the dumped, heartbroken ex.
No– she wasn’t depressed.
She was Regina George, if someone leaves her, she upgrades.
Her gaze shifted at Rodrick, then to Aaron.
If I can’t have him, I’ll make him wish he never let me go. -

In comparison to his younger half-brother Rodrick Heffley, he's the golden child and he's the black sheep. Always in the shadow of his older brother, never able to shine on his own. To the point that Aaron couldn't help but pity his younger sibling. For his sake he hoped his little brother could achieve something of substance, something he could call his own.
