Maybe it was a bit hard for him to believe because he himself had never felt it; his soulmate was wandering somewhere, and he hoped they were not suffering as much as he was.
Not only was it ridiculous to fall in love with someone else when he had a soulmate, but when this person also had a soulmate.

"Everything alright, Yoongi-hyung? You seem distracted," Seung-min observed, his tone laced with gentle concern.
Yoongi blinked, realizing he'd been staring blankly at a bunch of lavender. "Oh, it's nothing," he mumbled, shaking his head as if to clear it. "Just... had an interesting encounter at the market."
Jisung's ears perked up at this, his natural curiosity piqued. "Interesting how? Did you run into a celebrity or something?"
"No, nothing like that," Yoongi replied, a faint blush creeping up his neck. "Just... someone I bumped into. Literally."
Seung-min and Jisung exchanged knowing glances, a silent conversation passing between them. They'd known Yoongi long enough to recognize when something – or someone – had managed to breach his carefully constructed walls.
"Well, whoever they were, they must have made quite an impression," Seung-min said softly.

Now, with his chances all run out, Remus is sent to Hawkings Independent School as a last-ditch effort to clean up his act. There he meets the very people who will set up the rest of his life, and is forced to confront the pieces of himself he'd long thought had been lost.
