“We just don’t want you to get hurt,” Lily said, Mary eagerly nodding beside her.
“You know how Slytherins are,” Peter said.
“I’ve never met one that’s not a fucking pompous shithead,” Marlene said.
“He will leave you broken,” Sirius said, “Trust me on this one.”
But his friends didn’t know Regulus like James did. After a month of being with Regulus any chance he got, James could write a short story about everything the boy did and didn’t like.-

The Black family and the Potter family grew-up spending their summers at neighboring lake houses a few hours off the East Coast. Then one summer, James Potter stopped coming. Regulus can admit he was a little disappointed when his first crush suddenly disappeared from his life. But it's been seven years. He's clearly over it.
That is until his last summer before starting college, when that same golden-skinned boy steps out of the car, grown and beautiful, and crashes back into Regulus' world.

Summary
James Potter wasn't surprised to get the owl he was needed in the Headmistress' office after his son was caught in the middle of yet another prank. What he wasn't expecting was to be so caught off guard by the Professor who had caught Harry this time around. The last time he had seen Regulus Black was years ago, and now here he was immaculately dressed, scowl on his face and James couldn't stop staring.
Why hadn't he seen Regulus in years? Regulus has spent the last five years avoiding James Potter because he couldn't take suffering through his childhood crush a second later. Now all of that was for nothing, because James Potter was standing across from him, smirking at him from behind those glasses of his, calling Regulus 'Professor Black' and setting Regulus' skin on fire.
