Summary
Eric is in charge of shaping the dreams of mortals, but all of them? No, at least not alone. His task is more specific: to guide those special enough to have the best dreams. But who chooses who is fortunate and who isn't? Why does it only have to be for certain people? He wonders about this when he meets a particular mortal, one whom his brother loved to torment with nightmares.
This human ends up captivating him, much more so than the other arrogant mortals he is always sent to dream. So, one night when he finally takes pity on him, he gives him a dream, one that the human had perhaps been waiting for and deeply desiring, hoping that this dream would bring him fortune, only for it to become the reason for his ruin.
