Summary
"He's way too young for you," Mike muttered, whipping his head away from Robin and tucking his knees up to his chin. For some reason, he thought this conversation might go a lot worse for him if he looked her in the eye. "And you took him into the woods— where he got taken, I mean, I don't even—" and he shook his head, frowning deeper. "You went against his mom's orders! Can you not even respect his parents?"
A choked noise snapped Mike back to reality. "You— what?" Robin blinked at him, her mouth hanging slack. "I respect Joyce Byers. Very much."
With Will unconscious, Mike and Robin find time for a tense chat.

“I… I need you to wake up now, though, okay?” Mike whispered, his hand sliding from Will’s hair down to the side of his neck, thumb brushing tenderly along his jawline. “I need my best friend to be conscious so we can both geek out over how fucking awesome that was—”
Despite everything, he caught himself smiling, imagining the conversation they’d have about how cool Will’s... development had been.

Summary
Because Robin’s words kept circling through his mind, looping over and over like a song he couldn’t turn off.
A brush of the knee. A bump of the elbow. A shared look.
Little signs. Little hints. Little pieces of something that looked a whole lot like possibility.
And with Mike lying next to him right now, their shoulders nearly touching, their hands inches apart on the bed, Mike watching him with those soft, searching eyes, it was impossible not to wonder if maybe, just maybe…
Those signs were already there.
