"The opportunity for him to exploit the metaphorical soft belly on display is too great to resist and he leans further over his knee, closer to Tav, his fingertips brushing the other elf’s shoulder unintentionally as he does so. Even the briefest contact with their warm skin sends pleasurable little reverberations throughout his body and he reflexively paints a cocky smile across his lips to maintain the illusion of confidence as he struggles to rein in his surprise. Touch *does not* have this effect on him. Touch is something he *tolerates* out of necessity, made just pleasurable enough by whatever cocktail of potions and booze he’s procured. Not tonight apparently. It takes conscious effort not to yank his hand away as though he’s been burned and break his façade of unshakeable confidence. Were it not for the sound of Tav’s heart beating fast as a hummingbird’s wings at his light touch, he would feel utterly helpless – at least it appears they are both on equal footing. Unsteady footing, but equal nonetheless."
