Once in bed, Yaz tossed and turned a few times before one of the photos on the wall caught her eye.
It was a candid Ryan had taken of her and the Doctor on a different shore on one of their rare relaxing excursions’. Yaz was bent over laughing, her hand on the Doctor’s shoulder, while the Doctor looked at her, smiling softly. Yaz hadn’t recognised it back then, but even all that time ago, she had admired the Doctor in a way that wasn’t strictly platonic. And if that photo was anything to go by, the Doctor had too.
That’s it, Yaz thought, I’m getting up.After their conversation on the beach, Yaz can't sleep. Neither can the Doctor.

Yaz missed the Doctor. Plus, she'd gotten used to sleeping in a TARDIS control room after all that time spent searching for the her. So she suggests they drag a mattress out and have a sleepover out in the control room. And it'd just be extra work to put it away.
Or, the story of why there is a mattress in the TARDIS control room.
