It’s been years now, and the bar runs as it always has in the heart of the small town in this mysterious world. Charles waits patiently for Max to come downstairs, tending to the customers as the days slip by. Time flies, faster there than here, and Max feels it every time he closes his eyes, seeing Charles’ face before waking to the reality that moves on slower, unchanged, even after months, while the F1 season keeps its steady course on the real world.

He’s spoken to Cypher multiple times before about the nature of the agent’s work, how he wont specify his methods, how the ones he has shared have been… distasteful, to say the least. Cypher never seemed to take their discussions seriously, much to Sova’s displeasure. He would always laugh, purr out some answer along the lines of 'I do what it takes,' and sometimes throw in 'my friend' for added insult.
And now here he is, parked across Sova typing away, ensuring that the first thing the hunter sees upon waking is a reminder that the man he hates is the very man who saved his life. That those same hands Sova had fallen into are now, he can only assume, picking apart another person’s life.*****
After saving Sova’s life on a mission, Cypher begins to act like he and the hunter are friends. Sova, to nobody’s surprise, does not feel the same.
