He’d sort of assumed their wedding would be a whole thing. He got it, he really did. Prince of Katolis marrying one of the assassins sent to kill, well, not him but close enough. Fairy story stuff. Of course people were going to romanticise it. He hadn’t expected festivals and the like though.
This big crazy wedding? It didn’t exactly feel like them.
But it would be fine. It was just a day, a far bigger day than he’d anticipated but a day all the same. The important thing was they were getting married. Officially setting in stone their whole thing thing. The rigmarole surrounding it was what it was.

There was a sense of uneasiness, there always was, however small; yet Soren picked up on the misery pouring out of one of their team members: their mage, Callum: Soren’s friend, his brother.
Callum had suffered terribly at the hands of Finnegrin, that much was evident because of his busted eye and lip, but also in a more subtle manner, the way he now held himself, if you could even call it that. It looked more like trying desperately to stay afloat in a storm instead of holding himself up. It made Soren troubled to see Callum in this state.
He couldn’t save his father, so he vowed to save Callum.
