Summary
Eiji found them. Of course he found them, he’s the one in charge of all the cleaning in this flat, thank you very much. And he should go back to it. He still needed to finish changing sheets, clean all the area around the sink and it seemed that the laundry was ready to be hanged too, given he could no longer hear the furious banging of the laundry machine.
But here he was, sitting on his bed, staring at the pretty blond girl in a skinny outfit looking at him from a cover of a 18+ magazine.

Summary
Sharp green eyes stare back at Eiji. Only for a moment, and then those eyes close shut, face relaxed. Completely and perfectly asleep. Except the hair on the back of Eiji's neck has stiffened— that same feeling Eiji learned to listen to when he was nineteen because it means something isn’t right (before he even learned just how things can go so terribly wrong). Ash is asleep, to anyone else, but Eiji knows what his husband looks like actually tired from a long day, and this smaller, stiffer version is certainly not the same man that fell in bed with him last night.
A man... this looks like a child.
Or, a 30-year-old Ash is swapped out with a 15-year-old Ash, and Eiji's just along for the bumpy ride.

Summary
Ash doesn't know what to think when Eiji starts sidestepping his embraces and slipping away from his touch. When he tries to talk about it, Eiji dodges once again and Ash lashes out. He takes a bath to cool his head, and Eiji uses that opportunity to finally explain.

Summary
Extreme canon divergence/ AU: What if Eiji never injured himself and therefore never came to the US? The events of Banana Fish still happened, but differently, as Eiji wasn't there to influence them.
Without the injury to slow him down, Eiji Okumura continued to pole vault and eventually won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (which actually took place in 2021). Two and a half years later, he finally arrives in New York City. Haunted by feelings of inadequacy, he's ready to give up pole vaulting and create a new life for himself as a photographer. However, the immigration process in the US is long and complicated, and there's no guarantee he'll even be accepted.
Eiji wants a shortcut, and Max Lobo suggests one in the form of a fake marriage to Ash Lynx.
