Summary
One misplaced moment of weakness was all it took for Malleus Draconia to come face to face with both his long-denied problem, and to force him into finding a level-headed solution.
Fairies are, regrettably, notoriously inept with tech - all the rage in these novel times, so Malleus ropes in the best person to help him, slowly realizing he he may have fallen into a pit darker than the mud of overblot. And so Idia Shroud, the lord of escapism and the owner of a death-bound destiny set in stone, finds himself in the company of the ever enigmatic fairy prince. He does not believe in true love, and would love to chalk it all up to business, and the way that the human brain is wired. However, there is more to the themes of fantasy stories that he dismisses so readily than he cares to admit.
The two gradually come to realize that magic solves much more than they were hoping for... but way less than what they come to need.

Summary
Idia arrives at the reception, fashionably late and overdressed as everyone else, picking at his braided hair. Because he was the only Shroud bound to attend - he could not simply turn back as he did on the entrance ceremony - lest that merciless brother of his push him in, or talk other students into doing it for him again. It's not like it's prom today - it's just a stupid rehearsal, a reception to mark the end of the year, for those who won't be coming back to the classrooms. Third years, that is. There will be, in fact, a legitimate prom night and he will have a full year to either mentally prepare for it or perish - but extroverts apparently prefer their fancies and feuds fresh - and so he too, needs to make an appearance. He probably stands out less this way. Maybe. Hopefully.
