Summary
Agatha Harkness has prided herself on having the best decorated halloween house on the road for years.
This year, a not-so-new neighbour has moved in, and knocks Agatha off top spot right at the last minute.
Yes, Rio Vidal, her ex-wife, is back in the neighbourhood. Always a treat.

Summary
"Your scar?" It starts off just right, incredulous, slightly mocking. Rio says nothing as Agatha steps back so she amps it up. Gesturing to herself to give an excuse to no longer be holding her. "I," she raises her pitch, pointing to herself as though there's anyone else who'd say it, she fills the subject with the importance the other witches would expect from her, "am your scar?"
"I'm honoured." Agatha continues, "Though you always have had a flair for the metaphoric."
She does earn a scoff at that, finally.
"Symbolic," Rio corrects softly.
(It's black. And it beats for you.)

Summary
Agatha isn’t a keeper. She can’t trust anyone to put her in a room and not swallow the key—let alone the woman who sends her dirty texts on the daily. They’re just victims of sexual attraction, that’s all it can be.
Not to brag, but Agatha doesn’t need to do much more than walk out of her apartment in sweats to find someone willing to get on their knees for her.
Or, Rio loves Agatha, Agatha [censored] Rio, and Wanda and Jen make it their problem. (Alice brings the food and Lilia chills. Teen is there too.)

Summary
“Wait, you haven’t even heard my pitch,” She can hear William’s footsteps quickening behind her, “She’s gay, too.”
Agatha turns sharply on her heel, “How could you possibly know that?”
“I asked.”
“You asked?” Agatha slaps a hand over her face, covering her eyes, “Oh my God, Teen, one of these days you’re going to get slapped in the face, and you’re going to deserve it.”

Summary
Pulling the sheet to her, Agatha gets up, draws a hand through her hair. “Get up,” she says, loudly.
The woman – Rio, if Agatha remembers correctly, Jesus fucking Christ – only mumbles something in response and turns over, away from the noise. On her back, right below her neck, the black tendrils of a tattoo spiral across her shoulder blades.
Agatha’s too fucking old for this. “Get up,” she repeats. She’s been teaching for over twenty years; she knows how to make her voice carry in a room.

Summary
That was the problem with Rio Vidal. She had a way of making terrible ideas seem brilliant at 2 AM. Like arguing about Homer until sunrise.
Like kissing her in the Classics library after hours, pressed up against the shelf containing five hundred years of scholarly works on Sappho, Agatha's hands tangled in Rio’s hair while Rio's mouth burned paths down her neck and made her forget every language she’d ever learned.
Three months of something too intense to be called a fling, too sharp to be called a romance. Three months of brilliant, terrible decisions that ended the way all brilliant, terrible decisions do: spectacularly badly.
