Summary
A small crowd had formed to follow them, chatting excitedly. Even more people gathered as Carter was ushered up the steps to the small stage.
It was a brickwork thing, about six feet high and wide. The stage had been there for as long as Carter could remember- every county had one, these days. Theirs was plopped in the center of the busy plaza, between a cozy little cafe and a smoothie place. It was positioned to face the road, as well as the shops across the street. Carter had been a regular at many of them. Even the grocery outlet he cashiered at was only a few blocks away.
Now, he wondered if he'd ever have the courage to show his face in this side of town again.

“He was fucking all over you,” Shane growls, fire raging at a very specific point in his chest now.
Ilya’s amused smile is fucking diesel.
“You jealous, Hollander?”
Shane scoffs, which isn’t much of a helpful response. So instead, he catches Ilya by surprise and shoves him against the wall, choosing his words carefully.
“I’m not jealous, because I know exactly who you belong to. But do you?”

Summary
"Question for Ilya first but it'll be the same for Shane. Boston is an original six legendary team that has struggled to get to the playoffs for the past three seasons. How much pressure do you feel from the fans, and from the hockey world in general, to restore Boston to its former glory, and how much of that do you take on personally?"
What? Fucking what?
Ilya Rozanov has been in the States for years and mostly, he's good. He knows English, he understands English. But some days are easier than others and some days are harder than others.
Luckily, he's never had that issue with Shane.
