Summary
Mike dreads the nights.
Not for any of the reasons he'd deem "normal," whatever that godforsaken word even means. He's not afraid of the dark, nor what lies in it, no, he fears the stillness. That empty stretch of hours where shadows fall, the world itself falling silent.
The nights give Mike the time to think, and good god, Mike does not want to be given the time to think.
OR: Somehow, Mike and Will would be doing alright if it wasn't for the nights.

""Will the Wise," Mike's voice matched the low lighting of the stale basement. Will watched as he reached his hand into the pocket of his jeans, his heart pounding, and pulled out a set of plastic teeth. Vampire teeth. Will could feel his pulse racing and his gaze intensifying further, darkening, as Mike popped the stupid set of fake teeth into his mouth. He hoped it looked more competitive than it felt. "The Dread Lord stares down from his throne," Mike murmured, eyes dancing around the table before landing back on Will. "He’s tasted the blood of your friends, their drained corpses lying at his feet. He's prepared himself for the inevitable chase when you run, scared and alone, for reinforcements." Mike's words are slurred and ridiculous and as infuriating as he is hot."

The brunette grabs his boyfriend’s wrist, pulling him back softly.
Mike smiles, surprised when he finds himself in front of Will, “Hey, pretty.”
His words get muffled by Will’s mouth in an instant.
After half the summer of being a witness to this horrible haircut, Will has come to the conclusion that there is no other solution.
