Summary
“You shouldn’t be skating like that.”
Ainosuke’s expression doesn’t change. He’s staring blankly. Not at Kaoru, not at Kojiro. Just staring. “Not your choice. Besides, I’m out of time.”
Kojiro rolls his eyes. He’s lucky Kaoru didn’t see, because despite how awful Ainosuke is acting right now, he’s still always taking his side.
You know, Kojiro can’t help but think that maybe if this is how they split up, it’s for the better.
He wants his best friend back. He wants his best friend safe. He wants—
“I’m leaving for America first thing tomorrow.”
Kaoru’s golden eyes widen more, if that’s even possible. He stumbles back towards Kojiro, who’s wearing an expression almost the exact same as Kaoru’s.
“I can’t keep playing on the ramps with you guys. It’s time for me to move on.”
Oh.
Kaoru thinks his heart might have just stopped.

Summary
And then there Kaoru stood. Silent. Golden eyes blown wide. Looking as if he’d seen a ghost.
A ghost with bright blue hair and annoyingly gorgeous ruby eyes. A ghost grinning at him, with fangs and yet no sign of maliciousness. Just.. Grinning.
“Kaoru.”
“Get lost.”
“..Why don’t we take a walk? Talk a little.. Like old times.”

Summary
“Oh, you’re just jealous, Joe.” Adam purrs, glaring at him over Kaoru’s shoulder as he presses soft kisses to his neck.
Kojiro clenches his fists. “It’s halloween. You two have all the time in the world for this PDA.” And you know damn well why you’re doing this now. “Can’t we just actually celebrate? Normally? As a trio?”
Ainosuke raises a brow at him. Cocky. Cockiness that only Kojiro can see.
Leaning away from Kaoru’s neck, spinning him around to face Kojiro too, Ainosuke rests his chin on Kaoru’s shoulder. “Joe just can’t wait to go knocking doors for candy, it seems!”
Kojiro rolls his eyes. Kaoru turns his head to look at Ainosuke. “I could do with some sugar.” For such a simple sentence, it sounds somewhat suggestive. Ainosuke picks up on it and laughs, pressing a chaste kiss to Kaoru’s shoulder before walking towards Kojiro. Kojiro picks up on it and feels his stomach sink.

Summary
Because again, Cherry Blossom often doesn’t celebrate his birthday. Among the other reasons, he doesn’t enjoy growing older (he doesn’t believe he’s had the greatest experiences to show for the life he’s lived), nor does he enjoy reflecting on what got him to where he is.
It’s weird to have celebrated it at S tonight. Allowing Reki and Miya to boast to people the day before, fangirls squealing as they thrust gifts into his hands that he has nowhere to store.
It got weirder when Adam showed up, obviously. It got weird when Adam stood watching from a distance. It got weird when Adam waited until Cherry was alone to say so much as a single word.
-
Stuffing gifts into a bag, Cherry looks up at the sound of footsteps. Familiar, but not friendly. Precise, knowing. When he looks up, red and blue greets him. It’s the first time they’ve been so close since that beef.
“Happy birthday, Kaoru.” And before he can correct Adam, he’s being dragged to his feet by the hand. Kojiro watches from afar, his fists clenched, his teeth gritted.

Summary
Deft, practiced, hands apply makeup with ease, pinks that match the gorgeous shade of his hair, lipstick that Kaoru knows will probably end up smudged off before he has time to wipe it off himself.
He wears the occasional eyeliner, mascara, dark eyeshadow.. Never anything that makes him look feminine. Kaoru loathes bigots, and being gay, he has enough on his plate without rumours spreading through assholes that he’s a woman, too.. Whether that be they decide he used to be one, or is becoming one.
Whatever the case, neither are true. Ainosuke says the makeup makes him look sweeter. Kaoru likes to please. Even if only in private, because Ainosuke’s father would lose his mind were his reputation tainted by this.
—
“A pity,” Ainosuke coos.
Kaoru looks in the mirror, meeting his boyfriend’s gaze in the reflection. He picks his makeup brush up again, tapping it lightly against the palette, applying eyeshadow while still maintaining said eye-contact, melted gold staring into ruby.
A sigh, and a soft yet firm caress. “You truly do suit … This. Perhaps I could love you publicly, if this were more than a gag.”
Oh.
