The automaton stood in the doorway, a wreck of herself. Her cloak was shredded, armor dented and split, glowing fluid trickling down her side. Sparks snapped weakly from her joints. Her movements were stilted, each step a halting calculation.
Jahoda’s first instinct was to lash out. “What, did you trip over your own shiny legs? You look like—”
Her voice cut off. Ineffa’s eyes, normally sharp and steady, were dimming.
“…I require assistance,” Ineffa said softly, her tone measured even as her systems faltered.
Or: Nefer always said she’d wind up with her hands all over Ineffa…

“Welcome,” Ineffa said politely, her voice soft and modulated but undeniably warm. “Table for one?”
“Uhm,” Jahoda managed, which was not a word so much as a vowel having a crisis.
Jahoda’s cheeks warmed with humiliation. This was awful. She was fulfilling every stereotype Nefer joked about. Lesbian disaster of the century.
And then— “Yes. No. I mean— yes. I mean I’m home— sorry. I mean I’m not sorry. I mean— table?” She wanted to die.
“Right this way,” Ineffa replied as though Jahoda had spoken normally.
Or: Jahoda learns that maybe Nefer’s ideas aren’t always the worst.

Angel craves for Aki’s touch like it’s the most addictive drug on the Earth. He wants to touch, he wants to feel, he wants to be held.
But he can’t.
Angel can’t touch Aki, because Aki would die, his lifespan is already so short, a simple touch from Angel could quite literally kill him in minutes, seconds even.
