Summary
“I am not holding you for ransom,” the man replies coolly, but Wanderer can feel the knife shift within his palm, “You misunderstand. The Shogunate–”
“Will hang us both, it seems,” Wanderer feels the rain drip the blood down his face, “Which seems a punishment fit for traitors.”
“I am no traitor.” the man protests. Flat eyes of a shark almost make Wanderer believe him.
“Don’t patronize me. You’re Resistance.” Wanderer snorts, an oddly breathy thing full of mockery. The blood has started to feel like molten lava burning on his face, his stomach, his legs. “Here, it’s a sin of the same degree. They hang your kind, too.”
In the midst of wartime and turned fugitive on the run, Wanderer forms an unwilling alliance with an estranged resistance soldier to escape capture - well, that is, of course, if Wanderer doesn’t kill him first.

“Seriously though, you wouldn’t talk to me at all if I wasn’t useful to you?”
“No. What’s wrong with that? Would you still make yourself useful if I didn’t talk to you?”
"Well, yes!"

“Why would you do that?”

Summary
Pushing open the door, he was met with Cyno seated on the edge of the bath, handing him a roll of bloody bandages without looking.
“For me?” Tighnari asked dryly, accepting the bandages and tossing them into the trash. “Charming. You shouldn’t have, really.”
Cyno huffed, lifting his eyes. His hair was pinned back with some of Collei’s spare hairclips, so none of his beautiful face was obscured. Huh, bunny rabbits rather suited him.

It's been some time since Tighnari had been struck by lightning, but he isn't fully healed yet. When Cyno visits Gandharva Ville injured, naturally, fluff ensues.

Summary
“Is this some sort of courting ritual,” Al-Haitham finally gives in, loathing that he’s given Cyno the upper hand.
Cyno looks at the air beside Al-Haitham’s face, his owlish eyes narrowed into something more thoughtful. “Not to my knowledge.”
An unexpectedly ambiguous response for someone as unambiguous as the General Mahamatra. Al-Haitham watches as a wisp of baby hair falls onto Cyno’s forehead and he immediately pushes it back. “You would know,” Al-Haitham informs him.
“I honestly don’t think that I would.”
