Teruki had dreamed so often about the person he’d marry. He’d fantasized so often about how they’d look and how they’d act and what little mannerisms would make his heart flutter like a million butterfly wings. He’d thought so often about their velvet voice, their lips the color of lily petals, their hair like the inky night sky, or the way their skin shivered under his touch.
But their eyes. Oh, how those had to be utterly perfect. He wished for them to hold a shimmer of curiosity within the depth of their pupil, a hint of playfulness enveloping their irises. They had to be drowning in love and the kindness he’d not grown up with; hold him in their midst as gently as a feather tickled the wind.
But what would you have it? Shigeo Kageyama was the exact opposite of every one of these dreams combined.
