As much as Hua Cheng dislikes seeing his beloved in such worn and tattered robes hardly befitting of a god, he would never force Xie Lian into doing anything he didn’t want to.

In replacement of alcohol, Hua Cheng had a can of soda in his hands, his slimb fingers toying with the little tab at the top. He sat down next to Xie Lian, propping up his chin with his hand as he gazed at Xie Lian.
“Hello, San Lang,” Xie Lian prompted gently, a soft smile on his lips, “did you want something?”

“San Lang,” he had said, a questioning lilt to his voice. “What kind of needs do you have as a ghost?” They were in the middle of tidying up Puqi Shrine for the spring, both of them working through the tasks they had discussed that morning.
“Whatever the situation requires, I suppose?” Hua Cheng replied, curiosity piqued. “Why does gege ask?”
“I see…” Xie Lian trailed off, steadying himself before turning to face Hua Cheng.
“San Lang, there’s something I’d like to try.”
