Summary

Not the kind where pirates are noble, where love is simple, or where betrayal comes with a warning. No, this is a story of glittering temptation, of misunderstandings sharp as steel, of flirtation that cuts deep and leaves you gripping your chair, whispering let them kiss, let them fall in love.
But as the sea is treacherous, so is this tale. It will not hand you easy answers. It will not tell you where loyalty ends and greed begins. You will have to sail those waters yourself.
⚓ My first Pirates of the Caribbean story. Like so many, I’ve been obsessing over this series for the last twenty years. This fic drifts through the years before Curse of the Black Pearl and carries on all the way to the fourth film. Canon of the fifth movie? Cast overboard.

Summary
Trust is the trick. Faith is the con.
He taught her how to steal without getting caught. How to lie like a prayer and smile before bullets. How to make a mark believe in mercy, even while she took everything they had.
There were rules to the long game: charm before bullets, thought before blood, never con the family.
He lived by them. She rewrote them.Together they learned that every trick was a sermon, every con a kind of faith, that in a world ruled by gold and law, survival was its own religion.
He taught her patience, precision, and the art of vanishing. She taught him that belief can live in the hands of liars and that loyalty, once earned, is the most dangerous weapon of all.
They weren’t good people. But they weren’t monsters, either. Just a conman and his daughter, fighting the saints in their Sunday best, building something holy out of smoke, deceit, and the will to keep living.
