   Summary

   When Emmett died in a car accident two years ago, Elle didn't know what to make of her new life. Their daughter, Lila, had barely turned one and already she'd lost her father. Even two years after, Elle was still trying to make sense of the tragedy that had taken her husband. So, when her firm told her they were opening a Seattle office, Elle had jumped at the chance for her and Lila to get a fresh start. She was hopeful that the city that had helped her grow so much as a teenager, could help her heal now.

   Summary

   When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.
   She orders Simon to bring Grace back to the surface, and thus begins Grace's ordeal in a starless universe.

   Grace starts feeling suspicious and like he's being left out and kept in the dark by the Eridians, who start building a new biodome right next to his. He could never guess what the "surprise" the Eridians keep mentioning actually is, though.

   “Are you an angel?” Simon blurts before immediately regretting it. It must think he’s stupid, asking something so obvious. 

   The angel pauses, caught off guard, before managing a sputtering response. “What? No. Of course not.” It insists, looking a little flustered. 

   Simon stares at it for a moment before he realizes. “Oh. Sorry.” He says. He’s not supposed to know that, it seems. That’s fine. He can keep a secret.

   OR,
   My take on the "Simon thinks he died and that Grace is an angel" trope, but with the twist that everything Grace does just convinces Simon more that he's right lmao
