Summary
Feng Xin blinks back a few more snowflakes, and squints. It’s hard to tell how much further they have to climb to reach the summit, or if the beast might ambush them somewhere along the slope instead, like a complete asshole. He’s never had to deal with one of them before, since they usually keep to themselves in their mountains in the southwest and northeast. There’s stories about people being able to reason with them, but there’s also stories about them ripping apart limbs and eating them in a frenzied hunger, so it probably isn’t worth hoping for a gentle conversation on top of the peak where the snow beast agrees to leave.
“You should pull your cloak a little tighter,” Feng Xin adds after a second, and reaches out a hand to adjust Mu Qing’s fur collar. “Don’t freeze to death before you can be useful.”
Mu Qing’s lips might look a little blue, but his cheeks and the tip of his nose are still red. “Shut up. Walk.”

Summary
Through no particular effort of Lang Qianqiu’s, Qi Rong manifests himself one afternoon while Lang Qianqiu is idly reading a book.
It’s on the recommendation of the Crown Prince of Xianle that Lang Qianqiu has been keeping the Green Ghost in a painted vase—his fragments, at least, those damaged threads of a soul. The vase itself had been chosen less for its robust qualities and more for its amusing depiction of a tired immortal being harassed by an ugly demon, which Lang Qianqiu had found suitable; when the vase suddenly teeters on the edge of the table on which it had been set and crashes against the floor, the god feels a pang on its behalf, before a greater dismay manifests.
“Fucking—fucking horse piss-drinking roaches,” the ghost says as it gathers a form again, and a mouth to spit the profanities with.

Mu Qing’s go-to solution for situations like these is violence, simply because he hadn’t learnt about the concept of “talking about our feelings” until he was too old to make it a habit. However, in most situations like these, he’d been raring to go the moment he’d laid eyes on Feng Xin, for some reason. Today is not like one of these situations, with all the built-up tension from the unwanted attention.

Feng Xin blinked, waiting for him to laugh it off as a stupid joke, but Pei Ming just sat there waiting for a reaction. “You’re suggesting,” he said slowly, “that I find someone to go to couples therapy with me because it’s a more affordable way to get therapy.”
“Exactly!”
He stared at him incredulously. “There is absolutely no way in hell anyone would be stupid enough to do that.”

or: therapy is expensive, pei ming sometimes has good (dumb) ideas, everyone else is suffering, and fengqing finally get the therapy they need. at the same time. with the same therapist. because it's couples counseling.
