Summary
In their small bamboo house, nestled securely and privately on the grounds of Luo Binghe’s palace, Shen Qingqiu takes a small metal item in hand, turning it this way and that, admiring the delicate handiwork it would have taken to craft it. It’s fairly lightweight, gently curved, the metal walls of it thin and faintly etched with small decorative lotuses, quite well suited for his blackened lotus to wear.
Lounging on the bed, naked and waiting for him to finish inspecting it, is Luo Binghe. He looks utterly relaxed, almost as if he were ready to sleep, but Shen Qingqiu can see the sharp glitter in his eyes, the smallest flare of red brightening his dark eyes that gives his excitement and anticipation away.
