Summary
“You okay, Garrus?” came a different voice, this time from outside his head. Shepard hadn’t turned her face towards him. She was still staring at the galaxy map, expressionless. He shook off his reverie.
“Yeah,” he creaked out, his voice still rusty from his poor sleep. He tried again, this time syncing his larynxes. “What are you doing?”
“Mineral scanning. I refilled our platinum stores, so if you have any weapons upgrades you’ve been itching to get, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.”

Garrus can't sleep. Neither can Shepard. Late-night hangouts on the Normandy, scanning planets and craving that mineral.
