Ten years ago it had been his sister’s chance at a new beginning. Now, 4 am approached and John Silver arrived in New York City with everything he owned in two duffle bags and an overwhelmed backpack, in hopes of maybe achieving the same. Or at the very least, to sort out what the fuck he was supposed to do with his life from this point forward. Not that he believed New York held the answer. No city held any real answers, when it came to a person’s path, that much he was certain of. But there was nothing left in California, no reason to stay. He had woken up one morning and felt the malcontent and melancholy in his very bone marrow, and knew something had to change.
