His evaluating gaze isn't unfriendly; it only makes Yibo feel a little like he's been examined down to the bone. Xiao Zhan looks at him like this sometimes, although on him it comes across more like fierce curiosity.
"Once I decide on something, I don't change my mind," Yibo says, matching his even tone.
Peng Chuyue nods. "I thought so. Just make sure he knows that. Don't ever make him second-guess you."
In which Yibo experiences a shovel talk from a 19 year old, keeps his head above water and tries to hold on to his happy ending.

Summary
Lots of people think about quitting their day job for something brighter and stranger. It's one thing to think about, another to do it, and another to get as far as he has. So even if it's not what he originally wanted, Xiao Zhan tries to treasure and enjoy everything that comes along with his new life. He'll keep trying until he decides to give it up, whenever that is.
There's a lot to enjoy about his new gig. The script is fantastic, the production has actual money so the sets and costumes look good, and the directors and producers know what they're doing. Not much more he can ask for.
Then there's his main co-star.
Xiao Zhan's life is at a crossroads when he lands his first proper lead role. He's not looking to make it even more complicated.
