Summary
Eddie Diaz is no longer in denial about his feelings for his best friend.
The thing is, he's not very good at existing around Buck, either. And when another opportunity to stop Buck from being his usual self-sacrificial self arises, Eddie, again, does not hesitate.
But this time, after El Paso, after Bobby, after New Mexico (and really, they still haven't talked about it), Eddie's not sure the two of them can go back to normal. And honestly, Eddie's not sure if he wants them to, or not.

Summary
Former Detective Danny Williams moved to Hawaii after a knee injury left him permanently unable to be the detective he wanted to be; to be near his daughter is the only thing he wants now. Danny opened up a bakery, determined to make a life for himself and his daughter.
Former Navy SEAL Steve McGarrett moved back home to Hawaii after his service is finished, and in an attempt to find a rush in the mediocracy of life, opens up a surf shop. Always near or in the water, Steve feels home.
Along with Kono and Chin, the two men formed a quick and unbreakable friendship, and four years later, the bakery flourishes and the surf shop is always busy. But now, things are different.
Now, the water is rough.

steve rogers lives his life in his small apartment in a neighborly Brooklyn area, working in a tattoo parlor. he lives a monotonous life, on the same schedule doing the same things.
when a new neighbor moves into the apartment above him, things begin to change before steve even realizes it, and he can't help it if he falls hard for the blue-eyed musician with a dark past and a beautiful smile.

“It’s Eddie.” At her expectant look, he scoffs. “Taylor. Even you have to admit. He’s great. He’s funny, he’s a handsome firefighter, and most normal people would find what a wonderful dad he is attractive. He sent me a photo of the sweater he was going to wear tonight, and he looks really hot!” Buck wags his finger. “Claudia is missing out, I’m telling you.”
Taylor doesn’t reply for a long moment, long enough that Buck starts to worry.
“What?” he asks.
“Nothing,” she says, in a way that doesn’t sound like nothing.
Buck tries to set up Eddie. It goes well for absolutely no-one involved. (a 5+1 fic)

Summary
It’s something about the way Eddie phrases it. Something about the combination of his words and the way he’s staring down at the floor, and the flush in his cheeks and the way he’s fidgeting. Buck thinks, abruptly, he’s going to ask me on a date.
“Well I - wanted to tell you first, and I need someone to watch Chris, anyways - I know he’s getting old enough now he doesn’t like feeling like he’s got a babysitter, so I was hoping - sorry. Not the point. Uh. I have a date on Saturday.”
Just as abruptly as his own hopes had come soaring up above the cloud cover of his own unawareness - they go crashing back down to the floor - to the basement, and into the mud. “A date?” Buck rasps out.

Buck doesn’t seem to pick up in her voice the insinuation that this is a legitimately insane thing to ask, because he says, “I just want you to know that I’m really sorry if you weren’t. I was a different guy back then, and I’ve realised a lot of the sex I was having was probably really phallocentric and only focused on my own pleasure rather than my partner’s—”
“Oh my God,” Natalie says.
“I just wanted you to know that I’m really sorry if you felt unsatisfied.”
or, Buck calls various women he's slept with. Eddie is perpetually long-suffering.

Buck stared, mouth slightly agape as he recognized a familiar pain that insisted on lingering. And he wasn’t sure whether Eddie had just gotten worse at hiding it, or if Buck had simply gotten better at seeing it. Throat tight, he eventually asked, “Not meant to what?”
