Karl feels like the very blood in his veins is shimmering with anticipation. The love of his life — or at least, his future husband — is standing outside those gilded double doors right this moment, and he’s about to meet him, even if he doesn’t know which one it will be.
“I am about to introduce you to five suitors, hand-picked from various kingdoms and all fully qualified for our dear prince,” Eret announces.
Applause fills the air as Eret steps slightly to the side, smiling encouragingly at Karl. The double doors swing open.

In which Karl, the crown prince of Kinoko Kingdom, has five suitors courting him, six months of trials to observe, and one decision to make.
Or, to put it more simply: Karl is presented with a choice between the prince-turned-bard Quackity, the cinderborn knight Sapnap, his trusted advisor George, the skilled mercenary Punz, and Dream, the mysterious prince of shadows. Somewhere along the way, everyone (and I mean everyone) ends up falling in love.
