“I-I thought you were dead,” Vi said, bending down to keep her eyes locked on Powder’s sinking gaze.
“Pff,” Powder shrugged out of Vi’s grip, sniffling. “Don’t be so dramatic.”
“Dramatic?” Vi parroted, “I’m being dramatic? You’re a fucking cold case, Pow! I went looking for you after I was released, but I—I dunno, it was like you disappeared.” Vi huffed, running a hand through her hair. Shocked wasn’t even the beginning of it. There was no way this was real; she had to be dreaming or hallucinating or something.
“Right…” Powder mumbled, wiping at her eyes, “Well, sorry about that and all.”

Jolting, Cass finds herself nose to nose with an achingly familiar, and yet completely unknown face. The stranger blinks at her with round eyes as deep blue as Cass’ own sister and mother. She stumbles back a few steps when Cass bolts upright, just as startled. The girl is around Cass’ age, maybe a little older. Immediately Cass recognizes her, although her face is different. Sharp jaw rounded by childhood softness. Dark, straight cobalt locks frame her high cheekbones and bright blue eyes locked on Cass’ own. Before she even speaks in a familiar lilting accent, Cass realizes she’s looking at the younger face of her mother.
“I’m sorry to startle you,” she apologizes unnecessarily to the intruder under her oak tree. “But I was wondering who you are and why you're asleep in my family's garden?”

Cass II and Corinne take an unexpected trip into the past to meet their parents and come to understand them better as individuals.

In every universe Caitlyn and Vi find each other and fall in love again and again. It just so happens that in this one, they fall in love and the whole world gets to watch and laugh because Vi draws something out of the young Kiramman heir to the fabled business titan that the world so rarely gets to see. And that includes all the silly and naughty that the public probably doesn't need to know, yet her habit of boldly plastering it like she hasn't turned into a pseudo celebrity means they get a lot more insight. To the eternal suffering of Kiramman Industries' dedicated PR team that simply has no hope of containing the rowdy, loud-mouthed pink-haired addition to the Kiramman name.
