“Chongyun,” Xingqiu starts nervously, suddenly very aware of all the people around them who are probably watching this entire spectacle unfold, “what are you—”
“Xingqiu,” Chongyun cuts him off, looking almost awed, “you have really pretty eyes.”
Any coherent thoughts Xingqiu might have had left have now flown right out of his head. He’s not sure if they’re ever going to come back. The only sound he manages to produce is an embarrassingly strangled “What?”
“Your eyes are really pretty,” he repeats, “just like the rest of you.”
Xingqiu underestimates just how unpredictable Chongyun can be when he overheats. What was supposed to be a harmless prank leaves him questioning their relationship, and the way he views his best friend.
Or: Xingqiu gets what's coming to him.
