Summary
Fourth Wing Modern Day University AU!
Violet is a first-year university student, and since her mother (the Vice-Chancellor) forced her to move into Basgiath Hall, she now lives under the jurisdiction of hot third-year, Xaden Riorson, who immediately hates her. After they are forced to work together on a group project, Violet and Xaden get swept into an investigation that leads them to discover sinister truths about the university's leadership. At the same time, these two are super horny for each other, and who knows what catastrophic consequences their sexual chemistry will beget.

I straighten the sleeves of my new uniform—a stiff but slightly oversized black suit jacket with a camisole that sits a little lower on my chest than I’d like and matching black slacks, with a pair of black stilettos in my soft leather bag for when I get to the office. One of Mira’s old suit jackets, because I couldn’t bring myself to go out and buy my own. Because this is not where I was supposed to be going today.
While mom had prepared Mira and Brennan for a career in big law—at the massive international firm that bears her name—I’d tagged along with dad since grade school, learning how to help the city’s poor. I’d planned a career in nonprofit work, just as dad had, and had just started my bachelor’s degree in social work so that I’d be better prepared. I’d intended to spend summers as a legal assistant at various nonprofits during undergrad, then law school here in the Bay.
But then Brennan had some sort of breakdown and disappeared, and everything fell apart.

Summary
Newly appointed to the rank of Wingleader, Xaden Riorson only has one goal for his third and final year at Basgiath: Get all the marked ones bonded and graduated so they might stand a fighting chance against the true evil lurking at Navarre’s borders. The only problem is that Violet Sorrengail, his enemy’s youngest daughter, has also joined the Rider’s Quadrant this year. He doesn’t know why she’s here, what her plans are, or if he can trust her. All he knows is that he can’t seem to stay away.
This is a rewrite of my previous fic “The Wingleader – Xaden’s POV”. It’s a Fourth Wing retelling from Xaden’s POV with new Iron Flame updates. It follows the dialogue and chapter timeline from Fourth Wing with my own interpretations and theories of Xaden’s actions and feelings.
Do not read if you haven’t finished both FW AND IF - major spoilers from BOTH books throughout!

Xaden Riorson thought he had figured out how to survive in this place. Now in his final year at Basgiath War College, he’s risen to the rank of Wingleader. He is focused on one thing: getting every kid of the rebellion bonded to a dragon. Then the real work can begin.
But he hadn’t counted on Violet Sorrengail, the General’s daughter, entering the Rider’s Quadrant. She’s not supposed to be here and she’s about to throw every plan he has made into chaos. Can he trust her? And more importantly, can he trust himself?
This follows the dialogue and events of Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing, retold from Xaden’s perspective. This was written prior to the release of Iron Flame, so all theories and speculation are my own and unconfirmed. It's my best guess at exploring how Xaden might have felt throughout the story and features new scenes with Liam, Garrick, Imogen, Sgaeyl and Tairn. Major plot spoilers from the very first chapter.

Like my gaze doesn’t follow her everywhere she goes. Like my shadows don’t tell me every time she moves. Like I don’t beg Liam for updates from between gritted teeth, trying to make it come off as a casual interest, or at least as purely self-preservation. When I know in my chest, in my fucking heart, that it’s because I don’t think I know how to live without this woman in my life, and I absolutely do not mean because our dragons are bonded and we’re permanently tied together.
"I am annoyingly aware of everything you do,” I say, my voice low and full of heat.
