When Yizhuo finishes, she lets out a flustered giggle. “You’re pretty good at baking.” She smiles up at Aeri, gaze lingering. She can feel her heart racing under Aeri’s gaze, feeling pleasantly nervous at the lack of space between them. She felt like she was starting to understand what Minji was talking about.
Aeri’s grin widens. “You think so, hm?” she hums, still holding the cookie between her fingers as if waiting to offer another bite. It already feels like she has Yizhuo wrapped around her finger, and she knows it.

She kept thinking about the dream from the night before. She couldn’t remember what had happened. She couldn’t remember what she’d seen. But she remembered the feeling. That awful, suffocating fear that had followed her even after she’d opened her eyes.
And now, standing alone outside in the dark, she couldn’t help but wonder if it would happen again.
Or: Yizhuo is plagued by constant nightmares and fears sleeping. But, Aeri is there to give her the comforting sensation of being protected and cherished.

Yizhuo is struck with the realization that this girl is completely at odds with everything around her. She is shiny and smooth and sparkling, nothing like the crumbling bridge they stand on, the frayed cape keeping her warm, the tired eyes gawking at her.
Aeri finally splutters to life, her voice heavy with astonishment.
“You… you’re Winter! The missing crown Princess!”

Yizhuo isn't sure what she expected when she started her journey to tame a ferocious wyvern. But it probably wasn't a sorceress reluctant to use her power, a princess running from her duties, or a knight with the weight of the world on her shoulders.
