Summary

“Really?” he says, crossing his arms over his chest, and maintaining eye contact with Alex.
“Hi baby,” Alex says with a grin. Henry’s just glad that their conversation is being drowned out by the groans of a monster close to burning out, and the screams of a city close to being demolished.
“Pay attention,” Henry scolds him, “there are literally people dying, darling.” This seems to get Alex back in the zone– or at least close enough to the zone that he puts more strength into holding up the monster’s back.
“When you write about this, can you emphasize my super strength?” Is all Henry gets in return, and it makes him want to wring Alex’s neck.

As he’s pulling out his textbook, a shadow crosses over Alex’s bag. Before he can look up, a warm, distinctly accented voice asks, “more exams?”
“They never stop,” Alex says. He looks up at Henry, who is grinning down at him with his arms crossed over his chest. If Alex notices the way his shirt is pulled taught over his broad shoulders then that is no one’s business. Henry glances at his textbook, and Alex finds himself angling it so Henry can see better. “Criminal procedure. It’s about–”
Henry leans one arm on the table, and his blonde hair flops down into his eyes. He’s studying the book cover like he’s the one with the exam, and this close Alex can see a tiny mole on his upper lip. “Uh… criminal… procedures.”
The corner of Henry’s lip quirks up and – Jesus Christ. “You don’t say?”

“Real answer, or answer I gave NYU during interviews?”
“Real answer,” Henry says, the corner of his mouth quirking up.
Alex grins. “I watched Legally Blonde for the first time when I was six. I’ve wanted to be a lawyer ever since.”
“I regret to inform you that I mostly deal in civil cases, so the opportunity to prove someone guilty of murder based on hair care expertise is going to be slim to none,” Henry says, smile on his face. “If that’s more your wheelhouse, I might have to turn you over to Pez.”
“Hair care, or criminal law?”
“Both.”
