Summary
After his whole world comes down on him on a late October night, Remus realizes that the only way he has to cope with his sadness and grief is by running away from his past and starting a new life where people around him are oblivious to magic and where seeing a new sunrise every day doesn’t hurt. With the help of his parents, he manages to, more or less, achieve it.
But it was naive of him to think he could get away that easily, because unresolved issues always find ways of coming back. In this case, in the form of an emotionally-scarred four-year-old child with unruly hair and emerald green eyes, who’s just as hungry for affection.

Summary
Twenty years have passed since Neil's passing. Todd, a now-married poet and professor, returns to the anniversary of his death alongside his four-year-old daughter on a snowy morning. As life takes him to Vermont again after so long, Todd begins to realise the turns his life has taken over the years, the decisions he has made and how much he has truly missed having Neil by his side despite their short time together.
