Eddie blinked. For a long time, it felt as if he didn’t breathe. His hands curled into fists at his sides, not from anger, but something close. Something tangled in disbelief and fear and grief and the desperate, irrational hope he couldn’t let himself feel.
“Nope,” he said firmly to the empty kitchen. “Nope, nope, absolutely not.”

Eddie continues up the loft stairs before stopping halfway, a dreadful sense suddenly pulling at his chest. He doesn’t know why, but for a moment, only a short moment, he feels like God is going to grab him by the shoulders and tell him to stop. But then Bucks hand reaches for him, sliding down to his lower back before he angles himself beside him, kissing him eagerly. And he doesn’t mind if God is watching. In fact he hopes.

Six years have passed after the strange disappearance of Rhys Strongfork, a man capable of overcoming such an adversity as a time loop. Yet when it came to dealing with his feelings, he chose the safest option. To run away and not look back. At least that's what Handsome Jack thought.
