  Summary

  '86, Indiana.
  High school dropout Eddie Munson is convinced nothing good awaits him, not if he stays tucked away in the lackluster provincialism of Hawkins. He longs for chaos, loud music, the blinding flickering of concerts lights; maybe to muffle out the deafening state of uneasiness in which he has always lived, maybe for no reason at all other than to flee the town that had yet to give him a reason to stay.
