It was a Saturday evening. Elias stood at his kitchen counter chopping up vegetables to make a pasta sauce for dinner. It was usually a small dish, but he had doubled the recipe, because tonight he was cooking for two.
The blinds were open at the window above his sink to give him a pleasant view of his garden. A garden which currently (poorly) hid a spying archivist.
Jon tries to spy on Elias without knowing about an oncoming rainstorm. Elias invites him inside to dry off and have dinner.

Summary
“Thomas-” he starts carefully, because cutthroat little bastard in a courtroom or not, Alexander Hamilton is a pain in James’ ass and he doesn’t like the amount of faith in Thomas’s voice when he says the shit’s name. By all rights the savant young lawyer is, at best, a tempestuous, volatile resource to be treated with caution, and at worst a fleeting, dangerous distraction in Thomas’s bed. James doesn’t trust him one bit.
