Summary
New hunters are in town. Their 'shoot first, ask questions later' method usually isn't an issue for Danny.
Normally he would just laugh as bullets sailed harmlessly through him. Normally he would just fly away with a cocky solute and a delighted grin.
But these hunter's aren't normal. They know what they're doing.
Now Danny and the rest of Amity's ghosts are in real danger.

Summary
Other than a minuscule punch, the blast hadn’t seemed to do much of anything. It barely stung, and it seemed to offer no side effects in return. Hell, it hadn’t even left a mark on his skin.
Another dud then, though not uncommon for Jack’s crude method of engineering.
Or: Danny gets shot by a weapon that actually does exactly what his parents designed it to do.
