    "I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.

     

    A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.

    "If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"

    Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with. 

    Then, Caitlyn spoke. 

     English this time, laced with a light French accent.

     "I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

    or

    During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.

    Neither of them in prepared for the romance that follows this foolish, yet courageous decision.

    “Houston, do you copy?”

    Caitlyn panicked, feeling extraordinarily unprepared having been thrust into her new position without so much as even a handbook to consult. What were the formalities? What was she supposed to respond with? Where was the damn push to talk button…

    “Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”

    Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”

    There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.

    “Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”

    OR

    Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

    Eight months was a very long time to be good.

    The governor and Lady Fox had given him an extraordinary deal, he knew that. One more year of service to the hospital and his penal debt would be paid. His record would be expunged and he would be a free man for the first time in his adult life. Furthermore, he didn’t have to stop his work as a surgeon. In fact, Lady Fox had made it quite clear that his skill in that arena was a key reason for this miraculous deal.

    All he had to do was abide by three simple rules:

    1. Don’t go anywhere
    2. Don’t make any money
    3. Don’t be alone with Belle
